I put out all the postcards I received and then went through them one-by-one, taking an inventory and looking at what I enjoyed....the essence that pulled me in. Then I started writing... I kept waiting, waiting for someone to call and tell me that I was disqualified from the postcard festival. Alas, no one called. --Taffe This piece was inspired by one of the Postcard Festival poets. I had received a poem that was made up of text looked like it had been torn out of a few sources. The image and text are from two different sources. I think I will play with this idea so more!
I started by creating a structure - a series of artist-agreements - then I fleshed out the poem. Here is what I worked with: Form:

One more agreement: NEVER EVER PUT A STAMP where it says "Place stamp here!" On this day when the word was "ham-fisted" I accidentally tore the postcard. I decided to tape and send!
